Yay for shaming femininity as shallow and unappealing. Gold star!
Seriously though, I don’t give a damn what style of clothes my lover wears or how long they spend on their hair. Whatever makes them happy.Though I believe I might award someone points for wearing sweatpants and jeans at the same time, particularly if the sweatpants are in their hair.
Do you know, my brain autocorrected that to sweatshirts. I would definitely give someone all of the awards for finding a creative way to wear both.
Everyone’s presentation is valid. :/ Not caring about your appearance does not make you deep.
99% of CITATION NEEDED CITATION NEEDED also shut the fuck up snowflake. I doubt even the girliest of femmes “think about make-up all day”. IME they think about FUCKING.
OMG, Derek, the second I saw 99% quoted, that was my thought, too. As for the rest… look, I get the kind of mentality that can cause people to type things like that, because ages ago when I was a teenager, I had a little of that, too. Heck, I feel that sometimes in my apartment building, now, as a grown-up (that bookclub that started with “Breaking Dawn,” of all things). But it’s the kind of mentality that needs to be broken down. Women who wear skirts, makeup artists and hobbyists who are really passionate about makeup, and women who think it’s cool to do fancy things to their hair — they are not the enemy of women who wear Cons and jeans. Sometimes it’s the same woman on different days. This is not an us vs them thing; making it into something like that weakens both ‘sides’. It’s a false division that tries to make the other side into something Less than worthy of respect as an individual.
My name is Stan. I wear skirts, I wear a lot of makeup, I like doing stuff to my hair. I am a scientist and an artist and I would like to be your friend, women who wear Cons and jeans. We can listen to music together.
*steps off soapbox*
